You Asked We Listened Posted or Updated on 4 Dec 2023

Northgate Practice recently carried out a patient satisfaction survey. One of the questions related to how you prefer to see a GP. The responses were massively in favour of seeing the GP Face to Face.

We have acted on this and from the 1st August 2022, all GP appointments will be default Face to Face. If you prefer a telephone consultation then this can be made available via the receptionist, as we know a telephone consultations are more suited to some patients.

There will be more routine appointments available for you to book in advance for routine problems.

For on the day (urgent appointments) you may still be asked to complete an online e-consult which is the quickest way of being dealt with by a Clinician on the same day. For urgent appointments booked by telephone you may be asked the nature of the problem by a member of the reception team.

Please note that the GP will only be able to deal with 1 medical problem during your face to face appointment. Appointments are 10 minutes, so to ensure the best advice and treatment can be given the GP will only be able to deal with 1 problem per appointment. A double appointment can be requested at the time of booking if you need to discuss more than 1 issue.

We hope that the changes we are making ensure that you continue to receive a high level of service from Northgate Practice and it is a sign that we are on the road to normality after a very tough couple of years.

Thank you
Northgate Practice
